Brayan Viera is an illustrator and animator based in Panama.
His work incorporates the colors and textures typically associated with childhood into contemporary illustration and animation, reminding the audience that it’s okay to feel like a child again.
He often uses technology as a driving force for his creativity, employing 3D and VR to model and create structured sculptures that resemble modeling clay.

Statement

Recently, my work has focused on sculptures that utilize virtual reality.
My work centers on the intersection between technology and human emotions, exploring how they interact in the digital realm. Through the computer—which has become my primary creative tool—I navigate the challenges of everyday life in the contemporary world.
I work with virtual reality to build worlds that serve as a reflection of our relationship with technology: how it is intertwined with love, work, pain, and the joy of being human.
Virtual reality is a medium that fascinates me because of its duality: deeply artificial and malleable, yet at the same time surprisingly human. By using my hands as my primary tool instead of a mouse, I feel as though I am sculpting in a virtual space that fuses the traditional with the digital, transforming every gesture into a form of contemporary craftsmanship.
